Born Eric Gilliland, his stage name Eric Veta is an anagram of the word creative — a subtle nod to his lifelong pursuit of creative expression. He was introduced to songwriting at age eight when his father, studying at the Navy School of Music, introduced him to music composition software. By his teens Eric had composed hundreds of original works across jazz, electronic, and orchestral styles, releasing a personal album of multi-genre compositions for friends and family.
In high school, while living in Naples, Italy, he spent four years scoring and arranging music for community theater productions. At the same time, he began singing and learning guitar, deepening his connection to songwriting and performance.
After returning to the U.S., Eric worked as an audio engineer, podcast producer, and composer for indie artists, apps, and games — including Waze's voice navigation project and iconic Facebook game Farmville. Following a personal hiatus from music, he reignited his passion post-divorce and built a solo production workflow that allows him to effectively manifest a lifetime of songs dancing in his head.
Now a husband and father of four, Eric lives with his family in West Michigan. A deeply growth-driven individual, he believes the purpose of every person is to discover their calling and pursue it relentlessly.
